It took some of us a little longer to “cotton on”, giving rise to the phrase NFY – “Normal for Yorkshire” – applied to Yours Truly, Chair from Up North. But with patience and humour from our own Sue St John we were guided through the technique of weaving a circle on a peg loom.
The session contained all the ingredients for a successful evening – expert advice, sharing of hints and tips (we all learned how to add loops to the pegs to accommodate bulky fleece, and how to join two lengths of fabric using the “snip and slot” method), tea and biscuits and good company.
I can feel teapot stands, dog basket liners and circular cushions coming on.
