We’ve successfully done it in Worstead for decades, but could that success be replicated in Aylsham? We just had to be brave, think positive, ignore the low temperature and the rain and GO FOR IT !
The Parish Church of St Michael’s Aylsham buzzed with activity, enthusiasm and friendly chatter, fuelled by excellent coffee and delicious cake.Spinners spun, weavers wove, children made God’s Eyes, braids, and “worked the pedals” on the spinning wheels. There were inklers (is that a proper word ?), lacemakers, and there was tablet-weaving (seldom seen), rag rugs and handknitting.
So, was it a success ? YES ! How could it not be – the coming together of two groups of lovely people ? Now let me think . . . next year . . .
